Hey, I’m Hunter · Frontier Photography
I’m a photographer based in Broken Bow and Hochatown, Oklahoma. My wife Beth’s family, the Foggs and Camps, have had roots here for more than 50 years. From time at the lake to the trails through the pines, this place is home.
I got into photography by seeing how far I could push a phone camera. Eventually, that curiosity led to a Canon T3i, then a T6i, and later Sony mirrorless gear. Along the way, photography became a way to pay closer attention—to the light, the landscape, and the moments worth keeping.
Today, I photograph families, couples, seniors, pets, cabins, and elopements. Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary or spending a weekend here with your favorite people, I want your photos to feel like you.
“Most photographers visit. I live here. I know where the light hits, which trails clear the treeline at golden hour, and the lake access spots worth the extra hike.”
Local knowledge, personal attention
I’ve spent years exploring how the light moves across the lake, through the forest, and along the ridgelines. That familiarity helps me plan where and when we’ll shoot.
A quiet lakeside spot, a walk among the pines, or the cabin where everyone’s staying—we’ll choose a setting that feels right for your session.
You don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose. I’ll offer relaxed direction and leave space for the expressions and interactions that happen naturally.
My approach
I pay attention to what happens between the planned photos: a sudden laugh, the way your dog looks at you, or a quiet moment together before the ceremony.
I want a session to feel like time spent with someone who helps you feel comfortable. We can take a walk, find the light, and let the photos happen along the way.
Behind the photos
I started with Canon DSLRs in the early 2010s, spent the pandemic refining my style, and eventually moved to Sony mirrorless equipment.
Today, that setup helps me work with changing light and fleeting movement, whether I’m photographing a family by the lake, a pet on the move, or a cabin tucked into the trees.
